SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif - February 3rd 2000 - PolyMorph Software Development and The Iconfactory are proud to announce the immediate availability of the latest piece of icon software - iControl. iControl gives the Mac user total icon control; allowing easy changes to default folders, the trash can and the system folder in a single click.

Developed by PolyMorph Software Development in cooperation with veteran Mac programmer Craig Hockenberry of The Iconfactory, iControl puts the power of true interface customization in user's hands. Customize one, many or all of the icons in the System folder. Set the appearance of server volume icons, generic documents, suitcases, extensions, clipping files, floppy disks, the trash can & more. Once icons are customized using iControl, these settings can be saved into "iPacks" that can be sent to friends that use iControl or posted on the Internet for general use. iPacks are also compatible with The Iconfactory's very own IconDropper software and can be used to customize *any* icon on your Mac (not just those in your System Folder).

In addition, iControl comes with 4 unique System Replacement icon collections from some of the most talented icon artists in the Macintosh community, including Albie Wong, Talos Tsui, John Marstall and Dave Brasgalla. Additional iPacks can be downloaded directly from The Iconfactory for endless possibilities of system customization.

Unlike other system level customization software, iControl does not introduce any patches or traps into the system itself, making the software extremely stable. All icon settings are done via Apple's Icon Services and require Mac OS 8.5 or later to run.
